Scheurman Mnt Trail 5342a

Scheurman Mnt Trail 5342a, originally uploaded by dustinjblodgett.

Here's another shot from our hike on Scheurman Mnt Trail in Sedona. The cactus in the foreground is a prickly pear cactus which produces a red fruit that can be made into preserves or a sweet syrup. My wife likes the Prickley Pear Martini from a local restaurant called Buster's.

The local Native Americans had many uses for the different cactus in their area. I suppose you know most of them. I like the idea of taking a hike on a historical trail.

my Memories
I wrote in my Memories blog about the roads of my youth and how they were to travel in the winter time.

Just gorgeous. I was in Utah this year and your photograph reminds me of the scenes around St. George.

Do we live in the same state? That is beautiful.

Such a dramatic and colorful view -nicely done! (One of the best things about Flagstaff is that it's only a short drive to Sedona.)

Justin I love following your blog from Missouri. Makes me homesick. ( Don't ask how I got here) I lived in Flag 22 years. Kachina Village and Mountainaire. I also worked for the Forest Service and know a lot of the surounding areas inside and out. I was back last summer for a visit and can't believe how much things have changed. I started living in Flag when the Museum Club was considered out of town! LOL. Anyway..I have a great hike for you. Sycamore Canyon. You will LOVE it! You can hike it from the rim down (hard)or come in from the Cottonwood area. (easy). Let me know if you decide to do it. I live vicariously through your pictures!
