Pine cone on cinders

Pine cone on cinders, originally uploaded by dustinjblodgett.

I found this field of fallen pine cones while out shooting at Sunset Crater Volcano and I liked the randomness of their arrangement on the cinders. The contrast of the reddish brown cones and black cinders is also nice. I was able to get some nice bokeh in the background too with a large aperture size.

Just answered a coworker's question about the Pink Church downtown, because I remembered you had a photo of it...handy. :)

Very nice! I like the contrast indeed. I had a bit the same idea last week n my 11th March post with shells and sand!

Dustin, your photos are very nice! I love the colors and the angles and have really enjoyed your blog. I esp. love this shot today partly b/c I love pine cones and miss them here in TX (had plenty in NC). It's a really fantastic shot. Have a great weekend.
